Overpass Grenade Guide: Smokes & Flashes for Total Control

Overpass is all about utility and map control. If you’re not using smokes and flashes, you’re basically asking to get deleted. Below are some of the most effective grenade lineups for locking down A, B, and Connector. Bonus: we included schematic explanations and links to short clips! 🎥

1. Smoke: A Site Bank + Truck

From A-long or bathrooms, you can throw a smoke that lands perfectly between Bank and Truck. It isolates defenders and allows for a much safer plant.

This smoke is essential for executing A without being exposed to CT rotation.
  • Use from Long corner or Divider
  • Pair with Flash + Dumpster Molotov
  • Ideal for fast A takes

2. Flash: Monster Pop Flash

Stand just inside Monster and throw a flash off the upper tunnel roof. It blinds anyone peeking short, barrels, or pit — and doesn’t affect your push.

Simple, fast, and brutal. Especially good for rushes.
  • Only blinds enemies looking at Monster
  • Allows entry with rifles or Tech-9s
  • Best with two-man entry

3. Smoke: Heaven on B Site

Throwing a smoke into Heaven removes a major angle and gives you more plant options. Do it from outside Monster for a clean entry.

Perfect execution smoke for 3-man pushes.
  • Use jump-throw from Monster pipe
  • Prevents AWP from Heaven
  • Pairs well with pillar molotov

4. Flash: Connector Pop

From top Connector stairs, bounce a flash into lower to blind any lurking defenders. Especially powerful on early-round map control.

Use this before sending a teammate down — saves lives.
  • Low commitment utility
  • Denies early map control
  • Pairs well with short push

5. Smoke: Mid Pipe / Divider

This smoke from T spawn covers mid pipe and Divider, letting Ts walk up to Fountain or Playground uncontested.

Gives early mid control, prevents CT aggression.
  • Safe from spawn
  • Great for default setups
  • Start every Overpass round with it

Don’t just run and gun — play smart with utility. These lineups will give your team more map control, safer entries, and clutch potential. Practice them in offline servers or with bots, and soon they’ll be second nature. 💣
